General Muhoozi Kainerugaba

Chief of Defence Forces of the Uganda People's Defence Forces and Chairman of the PLU. A modernizer of Uganda's security establishment, General Muhoozi has built the Patriotic League into a nationwide civic movement that mobilizes young Ugandans around patriotism, service, and national development. His leadership style blends military discipline with a clear generational message: that Uganda's youth must be the architects of the country's next chapter.

Long-time mobilizer and trusted lieutenant within the PLU structure, Michael Nuwagira coordinates the League's national footprint and supports the Chairman in day-to-day political direction. He is widely respected for his organizational discipline, his work ethic, and his ability to bring grassroots cadres into alignment with the League's national agenda.

Fadil Twalla

Appointed Secretary General in the June 2026 reshuffle, Fadil Twalla brings a reputation for administrative rigor and steady political judgment. He is tasked with sharpening the League's internal systems, professionalizing its secretariat, and ensuring that every district structure reports, plans, and delivers on a common standard.

Previously Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs, Jacob Oboth-Oboth is widely regarded as a steady, thoughtful statesman. His presence on the Central Committee strengthens the League's links to the legislature and to Eastern Uganda.
